Jennie G. Burget, 95 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska died at the Parkview Care Center in Beatrice on Wednesday morning, December 29, 2004. She was born on June 1, 1909 in Sterling, Nebraska and moved with her family to Tecumseh as a child. She graduated from Tecumseh High school in 1928. She was married to Robert “Bob” Burget on July 25, 1938 at St. Andrew’s Church in Tecumseh. They moved to Beatrice at that time and she had resided here until her death. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice, Nebraska and was also a member of the Altar Society of the church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Dinges and her husband Stan of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jeannine Owens and her husband Flynn of Lenexa, Kansas. Five grandchildren, Brenda Dinges of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mike Dinges and his wife Stacy of Huntersville, North Carolina, Matt Dinges of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dan Owens of Lenexa, Kansas and Tim Owens and his wife Alison of Seattle, Washington. Two nieces, Margaret Holscher of Sanford, Florida and Beverly Lane of Berea, Ohio. Two nephews, Neil Whitham of Forest Park, Illinois and Gary Wellsandt of Brownwood, Texas. One sister-in-law, Grace Estes and her husband Bob of Silverhill, Alabama. One brother-in-law, Clarence “Slim” Beem of Humboldt, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Margaret Costello McAuliffe, her husband Robert “Bob” Burget who died on October 21, 1998, four sisters and one brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, December, 31, 2004 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice, Nebraska with Father Casey Porada officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery of Beatrice, Nebraska. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with the Fox Funeral Home in charge. A Scriptural Rosary Service will be recited at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the church. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska until 11:30 A.M. Friday morning and not at the church. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is also available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net.
