Allen R. Spilker, 83 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska died on Thursday morning, March 10, 2005 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. He was born on July 21, 1921 at rural Plymouth, Nebraska. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School at Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1940. He then lived and farmed near Plymouth until he retired in 1978 and moved to Beatrice. He is a former member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth where he was baptized and confirmed. He was an active member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beatrice. He enjoyed reading and being with family and friends.
Survivors include one sister, Evelyn M. Scheiding Wittler and her husband Orville of Beatrice, Nebraska. Two nephews, Donald Scheiding and his wife Lyn of Beatrice, Nebraska and Dennis Scheiding of Plymouth, Nebraska. One great-nephew, Brett Scheiding of Plymouth, Nebraska and one great-niece, Ashley Scheiding of Santa Rosa, California. Numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Emma Boeckner Spilker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beatrice, Nebraska with Pastor Roger Riedel officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice, Nebraska. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. in the fellowship room of the church. A memorial has been established to the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church with the church elders in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska from 12:00 noon Friday until 9:00 P.M. Sunday and on Monday at the church one hour preceding the services.
