Services Held for Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds Sunday

Funeral services were conducted Sunday in Maeser Chapel for Mrs. Elizabeth Maria Store Reynolds, 83, who died Thursday after a lingering illness due to age. Prayer at the home was offered by Glen Oaks. A duet "Whispering Hope" was rendered by Mrs. Joseph Hacking and Mrs. Leo Calder. Melvin Jorgensen offered the invocation. Ashley Bartlett sang a solo "Oh Grave Where Is Thy Victory?"

The first speaker was William Oaks, followed by the reading of several poems by Mrs. Stella Oaks Harris. The second speaker was Joseph P. Hacking followed by a solo "Going Home" by Mrs. John Jorgensen. B. O. Colton was the next speaker. Bishop Lester Bingham offered remarks of appreciation and a girls trio consisting of Mathel Merkley, Ruth Lind and Rose Marie Timothy sang "Perfect Day" accompanied by Mrs. Clark Jones. Mrs. Stagg accompanied all other musical selections. Wilbur Oaks offered benediction.

Pallbearers were Clyde Anderson, Paul Timothy, Fred Reynolds, LeRoy Oaks, Glen Oaks and Dale Willis. Interment was at the Fairview Cemetery with John McConkie dedicating the grave.

Mrs. Reynolds is survived by eight children: Mrs. Rose, M. Hardy of Loyalton, California; Mrs. Inez Elizabeth Timothy, Vernal; Mrs. Agus Lalene of Fresno, California; Mrs. Jean Winn of Oakland, California; Mrs. Essie Collett of Clearfield; George and Raymond Reynolds of Salt Lake; 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Three of her grandsons are serving in the armed forces.

Mrs. Reynolds was born in Frederiskstad, Norway May 23, 1858 and came to Utah in the fall of 1867. She married William Reynolds in 1872. Mr. Reynolds owned and operated a flour mill at Heber until 1879 when they moved to Vernal where he operated the Reynolds Milling Co. until the time of his death.

Mrs. Reynolds was the first president of the YMMIA in Maeser and also served as Relief Society counselor in the ward. For the past twelve years she had been an invalid and suffered greatly but complained little.
