Early Life: Dean was born November 21, 1937, in Provo, Utah, to Virgil L. and Della Gurr Baum.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On July 27, 1956, Dean married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Harrison, to whom he can now be reunited with in heaven. Dean's life was devoted to his family and friends. Being a welder by trade, he had a great talent and loved working with his hands; especially, if it could help someone in a physical way. He had gift of making wood, leather, metal and fabric items of all designs. Virgil "Dean" Baum passed away peacefully, at the home of his daughter, Kimberly, with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Mesa, Arizona, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 76.
Survived By: His children: Cindy (Chris) Hughes, James Baum, both of Spanish Fork, UT; Kimberly (Court) Wood of Mesa, AZ; brother, Dale (Neola) Baum, of Spanish Fork, UT; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His wife, Elaine; his parents; a son, Brady Baum; and a sister, Darlene.
