Mr. Ronald Ray Cardwell,61, of Moravian Falls died April 12, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born December 6, 1952 in Wilkes County to Conrad and Pauline Smithey Cardwell. He was of the Baptist faith.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Johnny Cardwell, two daughters, Angel Cardwell, Christina Ward and a sister, Helen Watts.

Survivors include: a daughter, Patricia Ruggiero of Moravian Falls; sisters, Susie Cardwell, Frances Cardwell, both of North Wilkesboro, and Barbara Cardwell of Mooresville, Jo Ann Callaway and husband, Bill, of Millers Creek; four brothers, Jimmy Cardwell and wife, Betty, of Moravian Falls, Robert Cardwell and wife, Gladys, of Millers Creek, Calvin Cardwell and wife, Cathy, of Traphill and Earl Cardwell of Moravian Falls; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. April 16, 2014 at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel with Rev. Fred Steelman officiating.
