Bennie Franklin Strain was born in Kaufman County, Texas on June 7, 1942 to Paul Franklin (Skeet) Stain and Hazel Marguerite (Martin) Strain. He was welcomed into his Heavenly home with the Lord on April 12, 2014. Left with fond memories to cherish is his adoring wife of 50 years, Jo, daughter Kellie Ferrell & husband Randy, granddaughter Mayci Fennell, step granddaughter Chelsea Winfrey, daughter Paula Waugh, grandson Michael Waugh and numerous family loved ones and honored friends.
Bennie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Spending time with his family was important to him. He had many interest including hunting, guns and knives, history and restoring old guns. During the 1980's Bennies served two consecutive terms for a total of 8 years as mayor of Combine, Texas. He was a deacon of his church. He also taught Sunday school and was always very involved with the youth groups.
The family will receive friends at a visitation 6-8pm Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Funeral Service will be 10:00am Thursday April 17, 2014 at Point View Baptist Church Combine, Texas. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery Combine, Texas. Pastor Bob Parry officiating
