Obituary for Lois Cooper

Lois Florine Blackerby Cooper passed away at 11:44 AM on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Lake Jackson, Texas after a short illness. She was born March 6, 1922 in Smiley, Gonzales County, Texas to Albert Dewey Blackerby and Lorena Mae Holliday Blackerby. She was the second of five children.
She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Dewey Blackerby, mother Lorena Mae Blackerby, sisters Bernice Lucille Galloway, Ruby Pearl Hill, Marjorie Elder Cline, brother Charles Wesley Blackerby, and husbands Alvin A. Redus and James B. Cooper.

She is survived by daughters Beverly Gayle Hamilton (Butch) of Kingsville, Brenda Gaye Hansen (Mark) of Lake Jackson, sons James Dewey Redus (Karen) of Kansas City, Billy Ray Redus (Dianne) of Cleveland, Charles Stanley Redus (Erna) of Kingsville and Michael Wayne Redus (Amy) of Pearland. She had 25 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Lois had the ability to love everyone as though they were the only one in her life. She was the greatest Mom in the world and a fine example of a truly Christian Lady.

The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel, 308 East Third St., Nixon, TX 78140 (830) 582-1521, with a visitation held from 1 PM – 2 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Nixon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
