Ollie Jane Norman was born on October 17, 1898, in Payne County, Oklahoma, while her parents, who lived in Flagstaff, Arizona, were visiting her father's brother, Riley H. Norman. She was the third of seven children born to William Henry Norman and Ollie (Axtell) Norman. After returning to Flagstaff for a short time, Ollie moved with her family to Kirbyville, Jasper County, Texas, where her father had obtained a job with the Kirby Lumber Company.

After the tragic death of Ollie's sister, Sarah Pearl, in 1913, the Norman family returned to Flagstaff, Arizona, where Ollie attended the Arizona Normal School (now Northern Arizona University) and in 1918 received her teaching degree. A few years later (probably 1921) Ollie was married to Thomas Roy Womack. Five children were born to Thomas and Ollie:

Thomas William Womack (1922 - 2012)
Jeanetta "Jean" Carol Womack (1923 – 2010)
Robert Edward Womack (Twin) (1928 – 1986)
Roland Everett Womack (Twin) (1928 - 2014)
Daisy Marie Womack (1929 – 2008)

Sometime before 1940, Thomas and Ollie were divorced. Ollie continued to live in Flagstaff for many years, teaching school and being active in the Order of the Eastern Star and Rebekahs. She died on February 11, 1978 in Redding, California, probably while visiting one of her children.
