Earl W. (Whitey) Allen
Earl W. (Whitey) Allen, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday , March 26, 1992.
He was bom in Elizabeth, W. Va and had lived in Akron 65 years. He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. with 40 years service. Mr. Allen was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church and a former member of the board of trustees.
He was preceded in death by son, Lloyd, and great-grandson, Matthew Lewis. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Verna; daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and James Hall of Baton Rouge, La., Patricia and Pete Stevanov of Uniontown; grandchildren, Linda Stemple of Uniontown, James Hall of Breman, Ga., Joyce Lewis of Atwater, David Allen of Akron, Debbie Martin and Richard Hall, both of Baton Rouge, La.; eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service Monday, 1 p.m., at the Adams Funeral Home, 791 E. Market St., with Rev. Donald Davies officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Public visitation one hour prior to service.
