Cornelia Jeanette Benton, 95, passed away on December 21, 2005 in Sandy, Ut.

She was born January 4, 1910 in Los Angeles, CA to Sylvanus Henry and Maude Davis Benton.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City since 1923.

She belonged to Delta kappa Gamma and the P. O. E. She had been a member of the Girl Scouts for over 80 years and was the oldest Girl Scout in the State of Utah. She was a retired teacher with membership in the National and Utah Education Associations. She taught for twenty five years in elementary schools in Utah, and was an itinerant teacher of visually impaired students in Salt Lake City Schools for seventeen years before retiring in 1975.

Surviving is a niece, Laura Jean Osborne, Nephews; Wayne (Kathleen) Benton, John Laurence (Susan) Benton, and Glen (Tanya) Benton and all of their children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers; John Davis Benton and Sylvanus Green Benton, a niece, Mary Ann Benton, and nephews; Sylvanus Henry Benton and Theodore Benton.
