Mrs. Mettie Todd, 93, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, in Lewisburg.
Mrs. Todd was born in Woodbury. She was a homemaker and a member of the Riggs Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Nathan and Sally Travis Mears; husband, Joe Todd; grandson, Tim Webb; two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by three daughters, June (Clay) Webb and Diane Todd, both of Dover, and Darlene (Bo) Warner of Chapel Hill; four sons, Gerald (Nancy) Todd of Fayetteville, and Max (Rita) Todd, Nathan (Patricia) Todd, and Ira (Nanette) Todd, all of Chapel Hill; sister, Opal Smith of Franklin; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Friday, March 14, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home, with Billy Smith and Tom Holland officiating, followed by burial at Swanson Cemetery, Chapel Hill.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Riggs Church of Christ Building Fund c/o First State Bank, Chapel Hill.
