"Mrs. Margaret Bess Barber, 85, Dodge City, Kansas, Native Nodaway countian, died at 11:45 a.m., Monday, at a hospital there.
Born October 4, 1891, at Quitman, the daughter of the late Russell L. and Margaret Miller Bilby, she had lived at Dodge City since September, 1973. On April 15, 1914 she was married to William F. Barber, who died June 2, 1974.
She was a member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Skidmore Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are three sons; Harold Barber, Peck, Mich., Dr. Donald Barber, Dodge City, KS, and Glen Barber, Glendale, CA; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Laura Mather, Pico-Rivera, CA; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Dodds, Bolckow; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preced in death by a son, William F. Barber, Jr., and one grandchild.
Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church, near Skidmore, with the Rev. Raymond Forsyth to officiate. Burial will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery. The body is at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
