A Well Known Citizen Dies At His Home Near Chatham
One of most promising and well known citizens died at his home Wednesday, December 10th. Mr. Byrd was taken with the influenza and from that went into pneumonia and all that could be done for him was of no avail. He was 44 years of age, was well known and will be very greatly missed in his community and throughout the entire county.
He is survived by a wife and one son, private Bryan Byrd and two sisters, Mrs. P(hilip) P. Shelhorse (Patsy Jane Byrd) and Mrs. Charles Adkins (Delia Catherine Byrd). His body was laid to rest Thursday afternoon at his home Rev. Mr, Boaz conducting the funeral services.
