Harry L. Erwin, age 94, entered into rest February 21, 2012 at Baysmont Asbury. He was born in Erwin, Tennessee and was a son to the late Herman and Josephine Erwin. Harry was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Elizabeth "Millie" Whited Erwin, and two great grandsons. Harry was a longtime resident of Kingsport. He retired after 43 years of service with Eastman, where he was a Chemical Engineer. Harry was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Army and the American Revolution. Harry served as an Explorer Scout Leader with Troop 255. Survivors include one son, William D. Erwin of Kingsport; two daughters, Martha Ann "Marty" Erwin of Lindale, Ga.; Tracey Ellen Ferguson of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Michael Kinkead Steadman, Travis Cole, Mary Ferguson; six great grandchildren, one sister, Mildred Erwin Conley of Erwin, and one niece, Rebecca Conley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at East Lawn Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow at 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.
