Abe "Bud" Bergthold, 82, passed away peacefully Friday, April 11, 2014, at home surrounded by those he loved. Service: was private and for family members only. It was our desire he be remembered in life rather than death. Interment: At a later date in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Best known as "Bud" to everyone, he was born on Jan. 16, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He lived a very fulfilled life, playing baseball for the University of Oklahoma and at Sandia Base while he was in the Army as first lieutenant in the military police. Bud had an exciting career as a regional sales director with Spalding sporting goods pro golf division. Being an avid golfer, he was featured in several publications and soon became a golf instructor. His memory will be in our hearts forever. Survivors: He was a loving husband to his wife, Joy; a dear father to Curtis and Teresa; a dear father-in-law to Carol and Owen; and cherished grandfather (Pop and Granddaddy) to Lauren, Chase, Austin and Connor.
