Ira Fancher, Dies of Injuries in Mexico
Ira Fancher, a retired real estate salesman, died last Saturday in Guadaljara, Mexico, from injuries suffered when hit by an ambulance March 4. Funeral services will be held Tuesday with burial in Forest Lawn. Mr. Fancher left here February 4 for a vacation in Mexico. He came to Seattle in 1911 from Walla Walla, where he had been a printer. Mr. Fancher worked in job-printing shops here for several years, then was a streetcar motorman and conductor 25 years. About five years ago he entered the real estate business retiring two years ago. Mr. Fancher was born in Malhuer County, Oregon. He operated a weekly newspaper in Pendleton before coming to Washington. Surviving are his wife Bessie, two sons, Edward W. and Jack R. Fancher, a daughter Mrs. Myrtle Ann Davis and two sisters Mrs. Allie Holloway and Mrs. Ethel Ridout, all of Seattle; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
