EVANSVILLE-Mrs. Thomas A. Sloan, 64, Bullard Road, rural Evansville, died Friday in her home after a long illness. The former Esther J. Reese was born March 15, 1901, in Evansville, the daughter of John B. and Anna Reese, and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 17, 1922, she was married to Thomas A. Sloan and they farmed in Center Township until moving to their present farm about seven years ago. Mrs. Reese was an active member of the Footville Methodist Church and WSCS, and a member and officer the past three years of the Janesville District WSCS. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. R. James Hagen, Spencer, Mrs. Donald Klitzman, Evansville, and Mrs. Robert Leitz, Milford; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Colden, Madison, and Louis Reese, Evansville; and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Sarow and Mrs. Robert Richardson, both of Evansville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Footville Methodist Church, the Rev. Richard Davis officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Roderick-Ward Funeral Home.
