Ms. Donnie Scurlock age 69 of South Carthage died at 12:15 p.m. Monday afternoon March 31, 2014 at her Hunter Avenue home in South Carthage.

Eld. Stephen Brooks and Eld. James "Pee Wee" Massey officiated at the 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon April 3rd funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Ridgewood Cemetery.

One of fourteen children, she was born Donnie Jean Silcox in Carthage on February 24, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Ruben Andrew who died at the age of 68 on January 3, 1961 and Dora Lee Bowman Silcox who died at the age of 73 on February 28, 1975.

Eleven siblings preceded Mrs. Scurlock in death, six sisters, Ruby Angel, Pauline Smith, Ethel Bennett, Maggie Davis, Sue Givens and Deborah Silcox and five brothers, Virgil, Ed, Henry, Allen and Clint Silcox.

Mrs. Scurlock had worked as a home health nurse.

She was a member of the South Carthage Missionary Baptist Church.
