Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Monday May 12, 1913

Mrs. Mary Jane Glass, wife of Jasper Glass, residing four miles north of Cedar Rapids, died at 4:20 o'clock yesterday morning at the age of 63 years. The deceased was born in Illinois July 8, 1850, and have been an invalid for a long time. Besides her husband she is survived by several children. The funeral party will leave the home at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and go to Shiloh church where the funeral be held at 2 o'clock. Rev. A.W. Hanke of Kenwood Park officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh cemetery.

Nancy Jane Lane was born in Marion county, Ill., July 10, 1850, and died Sunday May 11, at the age of 62 years, at her home northwest of Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to Jasper D. Glass at the age of 18. To this union were born ten children, John, Homer and Vesta having passed away, leaving the following: Mrs. E.A. Williams of Pleasant Hill, Mo., Mrs. A.P. Burgess of Robins, Mrs. B.F. Alsop of Kenwood park, Will Glass of Rowley, Jess Glass of Ida Grove, and Arthur Glass who is still at home. Her husband also survives, also three sisters, one brother and twenty-two grandchildren.
She united with the Shiloh Methodist Episcopal church in 1895 and since then had been a Christian and a consistent member of the church. As long as she was able she was active in the church and in the Ladies' Aid Society.
For years she has been sick and had suffered greatly for the last three months, death coming as a relief.
The funeral services were held at the Shiloh church Tuesday at 2 o'clock. Rev. A.W. Henke of the Kenwood church officiated. Interment was in the Shiloh cemetery.
