JAMES F. WETZELL
James F. Wetzell, Hume Resident, Passes Away; Funeral To Be Sunday
James F. Wetzell, 86, life long resident of Hume township and retired farmer, died at 3 p.m. Friday at the home of his daughter Mrs. Charles Gaumer, 202 Thirteenth Avenue, Sterling. The body was removed to the Wheelock Funeral Home, Rock Falls, where services will be held at 3 p.m. (DST) Sunday, Rev. James McKelvev, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery, Tampico.
Mr. Wetzell was born in Coleta Nov. 7, 1865 and retired from farming about 15 years ago. He was a member of the Rock Falls Masonic lodge and member of the Tampico Methodist Church.
Survivng are the following children, Mrs. Gus (Darlene) Johnson of Sterling, Earl Wetzell of Rock Falls, Mrs. Charles (Lelia) Gaumer, Sterling, Robert Wetzell of Chicago, Fremont Wetzell of Tampico and Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Adams of Sterling; five brothers, John of Tampico, Will of Tampico, Lloyd of Long Beach, Calif.; Oscar of Tampico, and Harry Wetzell of Rock Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Olds of Rock Falls and Miss Lillian Wetzell of Rock Falls; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena, who died in January of 1930; two children, Catherine Wetzell and Claire Wetzell who died in infancy; also by three sisters and one brother.
