Mrs. Mamie Dale Skillern, age 87, a life-long and long-time resident of San Augustine, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday afternoon, August 2, 2012 in San Augustine.

Dale was born September 9, 1924 in San Augustine, Texas, to Emma Dale Henry Thomson and Fred Thomson.

She was a homemaker, served in the Daughters of The Republic of Texas, and was a member of the Bridge Club in San Augustine and a member of the First Baptist Church in San Augustine.

Those who are left to cherish her memory include, her Husband of 66 years Kenneth Skillern and her son, Fred Skillern and his wife, Kathy of Houston, Texas, her daughter, Kay Skillern of Austin, Texas, along with grandchildren, Leslie Cheevers, Christopher Skillern and Mark Skillern.

She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Benjamin Skillern, along with three brothers and four sisters.

Memorial Services will be held at 2pm Sunday, August 12, 2012 in the First Baptist Church in San Augustine, Texas.

Brother Chet Hensley will officiate.
