KAYLIE KATHLEEN SMITH, 21, of Olathe, Kansas, died Monday, May 6, 2013. She was born on Sunday, June 2, 1991, the daughter of Jim and Lisa (Pettijohn) Smith.

Cremation is planned. Memorial Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 16, 2013. Family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

Kaylie lived in Ottawa most of her life. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 2009 and Neosho County Community College receiving her CNA.

Survivors include her mother, Lisa Smith of Olathe, Kansas; father, Jim Smith of Ottawa; sister, Shawna Pettijohn of Olathe; brother, Dylan Smith, wife Nikki and son Alexander James of Ottawa; two half-sisters, Amanda Moss and Elizabeth Ham; half-brother, Steven Reitmeyer; maternal grandparents, Anthony and Wilma Pettijohn of Olathe; paternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Smith-Itzen of Fairbury, Nebraska; two aunts, Linda Journeys of Olathe and Deb Cole of Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Leigh Bailey; and great-grandmother, Oda Lee Pettijohn.

Kaylie was working for First Response as a security guard at American Eagle Outfitters.
