Bern, Idaho-George Sidney Kunz, 76, of Bern, Idaho died November 21, 1981 in a Salt Lake City hospital of complications following heart surgery. Born September 20, 1905 in Bern, Idaho to Margaret Lauener and John Kunz III. married Edith Bills February 20, 1928 in the Logan LDS Temple. Ardent Church worker, serving in Bishopric, Priesthood and teaching position, Youth Leader, Temple Worker and Genealogy. At 76 year he was serving as Execurtive Secretary, High Priest Teacher,Home Teacher, Magazine Representative and First Assistant to the High Priest. He worked as a professional photographer for 46 years in southeastern Idaho, northern Utah and Wyoming. He farmed and ranched in Bern for 30 years. He was founder and curator of the Bern Museum. During the last three years of his life, he compiled and published two books." History of Bern, Idaho" and a family history of his mother and father and their posterity. Survivors: Wife, sons and daughters, Mrs. Frank (Betty Jo) Mascimento, Sepulveda, Calif.; Mrs. Joseph L. (Barbara) Lish, Pocatello, Idaho; Gary G., Montpelier, Idaho; Mrs. Mervin (Geraldine) Bennion, Soda Springs, Idaho; R. Kent Clovis, California; Roger Lee, Pocatello, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister and brothers, Mrs. Paul (Lula) Nielson, Ogden, Utah; Able, Rexburg, Idaho; Parley, Bern, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Ray, a grandson, Craig, nine brothers and twelve sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Bern Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday 7-8:30 p.m. at Matthews Mortuary, Montpelier, Idaho, and 10-11 a.m. at the Bern Ward Chapel prior to services. Interment, Bern Cemetery."
