Mrs. Ida Allen, 72, of 450 N. 8th St., Murphysboro, died Tuesday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital after an illness of one week.
Mrs. Allen was a member of the Chapel Hill Free Will Baptist Church of Murphysboro. She was born in Jackson County on March 2, 1889.
She leaves sons, Otis, Springfield and the Rev. Edward Allen, Murphysboro; a daughter, Miss Geneva Allen, Murphysboro; brothers, John Bostic and Dudley Bostic, both of Murphysboro; a sister, Mrs. Leanna Pelley, Chicago and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Chapel Hill Free Will Baptist Church after 6 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at the church at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Lloyd Sumner will officiate.
The Jackson Funeral Home of Carbondale is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Tower Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro.
