Services for Mrs. Melissa Frances Seale Hurst, 101, Lexington, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at a Lexington funeral home by the Rev. H. Blaine Lane. Burial followed in the Lexington cemetery.
Mrs. Hurst died at a Lexington nursing home Wednesday, February 10.
She was a native of Booneville, the daughter of the late Judge Joseph and Martha Gilbert Seale and the widow of John R. Hurst. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hurst observed her 101st birth anniversary in September. She received a birthday card from President Eisenhower on her 100th birthday, September 8, 1958.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Nettie L. Doty and Mrs. William Land, both of Lexington; six sons, Gilbert and Dallas Hurst, both of San bernadino, California; Riley and Paris Hurst both of Tacoma, Washington; Edgar Hurst, Redding, California, and Lester Hurst, Scranton, Arkansas.
