Len Smith Died Here April 4
Len Smith, 81, resident here for 23 years, died April 4 in Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted March 31.
He was born August 22, 1896, at Tobias. His parents were the late Samuel and Laura (Cook) Smith. He served during World War I and received a Purple Heart for injuries suffered in France. He married Viola Brown on February 25, 1925, at Mankato, Kansas. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons and three daughters, Melvin Smith of Fremont, Claire Smith and Irvin Smith of Fullerton, Ivan Smith of Wolbach, Orville Smith of Grand Island, Mrs. Lloyd (Bertha) Ljunggren of
Harvard, Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Ljunggren of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mrs. William (Norene) Holmstedt of Genoa; 27 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a brother, Eugene Smith of Ontario, Oregon.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Palmer Funeral Home here by Rev. Audrey M. Scott. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery. There will be visitations from 2 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
