Mrs. L. Milton Van Horn, 48, Milton, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, in the University Hospitals, Madison, following several weeks illness.

Services were to be held Thursday, Oct. 5, in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Rev. Elmo Fitz Randolph officiating.

Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.

Mary Kathryn Van Horn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Van Horn, was born Jan. 1, 1913 in Lost Creek, W. Va. She was a graduate of the Lost Creek High School, the Normal Course of Salem College, and the Bachelor of Arts course of Milton College. She taught in the elementary schools of West Virginia, and for several years has served as a substitute teacher in the elementary schools of Milton and Milton Junction and in Milton Union High School.

She was married to L. Milton Van Horn in 1933 and in 1937 they came to Milton with her husband where she has since made her home. Mrs. Van Horn was an active member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, a worker in both the Sabbath School and Women's circle. She had been president of the Women's organization of the denomination, but was not able to take office because of illness. She was also a past president of the Village Improvement Club.

Surviving are her husband; four children: Peter J., a senior in the Wisconsin University School of Engineers; David M., who has just enrolled in the Art Center School, Los Angeles, Calif., Judith E., a sophomore in Milton College, and Robert L., a freshman in Milton - Milton Junction High School; one grandson; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Van Horn, Lost Creek, W. Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert L. Bond, Middleburg Center, Pa., Mrs. Joseph Gerstner, Weston, W. Va., Miss Betty Lou Van Horn, Lost Creek, W. Va., three brothers, Edward S., Clarksburg, W. Va., Harvey O. Jr., Morgantown, W. Va., and Lewis J., Corsicana, Texas.
