BEAVER DAM — Alma Marie Alford passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones at her home. She was born on the Horton family farm on June 27, 1931, to the late John and Nanalee Black. She is one of 10 children, five of whom survive. Mrs. Alford was a cheerleader and graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was employed by General Electric, Kentucky Utilities and by her son, Dr. Dwain Alford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Alford.


She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Dwain Alford and fiancée Terri Brown of Beaver Dam and Ricky Alford and wife Vicki Alford of Safety Harbor, Fla; five grandchildren, Alison Alford, Nicole Berry, Matthew Alford, Lucas Alford and Kelsey Alford; and two great-grandsons, Liam Berry and Kalix Alford.

Mrs. Alford was a loving wife and mother. She was an amazing grandmother and took pride in her family. She is dearly missed.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Online messages of condolence may be made at www.danksfuneralhome.com.
