William "Billy" Edward MacEntee, 68, of Hortonville, NY, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at home. He was born to the late Abraham and Loretta Slattery-MacEntee on May 9, 1945 in Walden, NY.

Prior to living in Hortonville, Billy resided for many years in Kenoza Lake and Kiamesha Lake, NY.

Billy worked for over 30 years at the Raleigh Hotel in South Fallsburg, NY in the security department and as a general manager. Prior to retiring he also worked as an upholstery assistant for a local business. Billy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as hunting, fishing, and cooking. He was a true outdoorsman who taught his children and grandchildren to love and appreciate all living things. He had an incredible passion and talent for wood burning; his creations were always made with a loved one in mind. His beautiful work will be cherished by many for years to come.

Billy is survived by his daughter, Angela O'Neill and son-in-law, Richard O'Neill of Milford, NJ; his daughter, Karin Gorr and son-in-law, Michael Gorr of Hortonville, NY and their mother, Joyce Halloran. He is also survived by his youngest daughter, Liza MacEntee of Kiamesha Lake, NY and her mother, Bonnie MacEntee. He leaves behind two loving grandchildren: Ronni Grace Gorr and Grant William Gorr, also of Hortonville. He was predeceased by his brother, John MacEntee and his sister, Geraldine Young. He will be missed by his surviving siblings: Richard MacEntee, Loretta Hallenbeck and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his Life will be held for family and friends at the Hortonville Fire House on Saturday, April 12th from 1 to 4 p.m. Sentiments and memories will be shared at 1:30 p.m. followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Hortonville Fire Company or Upper Delaware Ambulance Corp.
