Clara Christine Wilhelmina Dahlke, 93, of Glencoe
Funeral services for Clara Christine Wilhelmina Dahlke, 93, of Glencoe were held on Sunday, Nov. 25, from Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Officiating was the Rev. Kristi Schiroo.
Mrs. Dahlke died on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Glencoe Regional Health Services long-term care facility.
The organist was Chris Starr. The congregational hymns were "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," "Blessed Assurance" and "O Come, O Come, Emanuel."
Serving as pallbearers were Rodney Tessmer, Dale Tessmer, Alan Brelje, Jon Farber, Michael Dahlke, Jason Dahlke and Jon Dahlke. The honorary pallbearers were the great-grandchildren. Interment followed the church service in the Glencoe City Cemetery.
Clara Christine Wilhelmina Albrecht was born Feb. 14, 1914, to Edward and Anna (Winterfeldt) Albrecht. She was baptized on March 1, 1914, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton by the Rev. Bode, and she was confirmed in the faith at Immanuel Lutheran on April 1, 1928, by the Rev. Weerts.
On Oct. 2, 1938, she was united in marriage with Lawrence Dahlke at Immanuel Lutheran by the Rev. Schmidt. This union was blessed with children Elvera, Melvin and Ronald. The couple operated the Dahlke family farm in New Auburn Township.
Mrs. Dahlke was an active farmwife and homemaker. She was a volunteer leader with 4-H and active in the ladies circles of the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Arlington and Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe. In later years, she participated in the Pioneer Senior Citizens of New Auburn.
Mrs. Dahlke enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing cards and anything that resulted in being by her husband's side on the farm.
In December 1999, Mrs. Dahlke became a resident at the Glencoe Regional Health Services long-term care unit.
Survivors include her daughter, Elvera (LeRoy) Brelje of Glencoe; sons Melvin (Lois) Dahlke of Arlington, Ronald (Jeanette) Dahlke of Glencoe; grandchildren, Debra (Rodney) Tessmer of Glencoe, Barbara (Dale) Tessmer of Glencoe, Alan (Janice) Brelje of Fargo, N.D., Cheryl (Jon) Farber of Green Isle, Michael (Crystal) Dahlke of Arlington, Jason Dahlke and fiancée, Jennifer Marth of Glencoe, Jon Dahlke of Glencoe; great grandchildren, Laura and Danielle Tessmer, Renelle, Eric and Emily Tessmer, Larissa and Joshua Brelje, Lynn, Erin and Lauren Farber, Christopher, Geoffrey, Zachary and Nikki Dahlke; sister-in-law, Norma Albrecht; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents Edward and Anna Albrecht; step-father, Ceaslen Albrecht; husband, Lawrence; brother, Raymond Albrecht; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elsie and Henry Bergs, Lydia and Edward Jakobi, Clara and Ernie Bulau, Otto and Delia Dahlke, Alfred and Selma Dahlke, Gerhard and Mayme Dahlke, William and Hilda Dahlke.
