Wesley Burris and his wife Martha arrived in Rosedale from Oklahoma in 1899. Wesley worked in the nearby Rosedale gold mines.The Department of Agriculture reported that it paid Wesley $155 salary (at $900 per year) as a Forest Guard at Datil National Forest in 1912 (Statement of expenditures of the Department of Agriculture for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1912, Department of Agriculture, Washington, D. C., 1912). He also served as a precinct judge for Rosedale in 1930 (Defensor del Pueblo, Socorro, NM, 31 October 1930, p. 4).
