Jill Engler, age 48, of Valley City, ND, died Thursday, April 4th at Sanford Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 8th at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the church. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.

Jill Elizabeth Heise, the daughter of Lloyd and Margaret (Scully) Heise, was born July 18, 1965 in Valley City, ND. Jill grew up and attended school in the Litchville, ND area. She graduated from Litchville High School in 1984. She then attended and graduated from Valley City State University. On November 4, 1988 she married Scott Engler in Valley City. Jill worked at various jobs in Valley City. She managed the ARC Thrift E Store and was recently manager of the cleaning department at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Jill greatly enjoyed all of the people that she worked with. Jill was member of the Women of Today where she served as President at both the local and state levels. She was also an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and served on the Congregation and Family Life Committee. Jill was a real people person that saw the positive characteristics in everyone she met. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and especially her family.

Jill is survived by her husband of 25 years Scott; two daughters, Sara and Krista Engler; her mother, Margaret Heise; one sister Karen (Randy) Ladbury, all Valley City, ND; two brothers, Mark (Mavis) Heise, Mapleton, ND and Jay (Susan) Heise, Valley City, ND; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Jill was preceded in death by her father Lloyd and one brother Kenneth Heise.
