Allen L. 'Larry' Paul, 70, of 6 Third Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, August 28, 2009 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Sandra M. Pomelek Paul.

Born in Massena, NY, on November 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Al Paul and Mary Gilbo Paul.

He was a graduate of Johnson & Wales University.

He served in the US Navy from 1958-1963.

After his time in the Navy, Larry worked at the Newport Naval Base for 30 years as a maintenance supervisor and troubleshooter.

He loved life and was "always on the go." He enjoyed flea markets and garage sales, always looking for new gadgets.

He was also an avid card player, but most enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his stepson, his stepdaughter, his brother-in-law, his grandchildren, and two nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2009 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Connors Funeral Home, 55 W. Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.

His funeral will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, E. Main Road, Portsmouth.
