Lorrine J. Alexander, 67, of Sanford, died at her residence on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012. The daughter of Lara (Sova) Hardy and the late Willard Hardy was born on March 21, 1945, in Arenac County. On Dec. 21, 1963, she married Everett L. Alexander in Midland and he preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 2006.
Lorrine was a bus driver for the Bullock Creek Schools for 21 years and was nicknamed "Mrs. A." She enjoyed over the road truck driving for two years with her husband and then worked for the County Connection "ETC" for another 12 years, retiring in 2010. Lorrine had her own Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed riding with family and friends.
Lorrine is survived by her mother, Lara Hardy; daughters, Laurie (Dale) Strickland of Sanford and Loretta (Scott) Partee of Wheeler; grandchildren, Everette, Nicole, Nicholas, Nathanel, Jakob; great-grandchildren, Madalynn Rose Martindale and Brayden Allen Gilmore. Lorrine will also be missed by her brothers, Willard Hardy, Gary Hardy; twin sister, Loretta Hardy and sisters, Margie Newman and Sandra Bradsheau. She was preceded in death by sisters, Connie Arndt and Annetta West.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, from Midland Missionary Church. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
