Bruno met his wife while in Orovada and she would later tell her grandchildren that their love story began when they met at a dance. Carol loved to sing and dance. They were married March 15, 1941, and remained married for almost 70 years until Bruno passed away.

They raised their four children in Paradise Valley, Nevada, and moved to Winnemucca when their youngest was in junior high school.

Bruno was predeceased by his son and his parents.

He was survived by his wife, Carol, and their daughters: Beverly Pollock (Gary), Rita Horn (Billy), and Cathi Tipton (Ken), her brother Bob Conger (Arlene), his grandchildren Kelly Pollock (Tammy), Larry Pollock, Karia Fiscus (Mike), Tennille Whitaker (Willy), Tara Tipton, and Halley Tipton, and his great-grandchildren Mitch Pollock, Daniel Pollock, Anthony Hunter, Gracie Fiscus, Hank Whitaker, and Molly Whitaker.

Bruno, Jr.'s parents were:
Bruno B. Marcuerquiaga, Sr. (1874-1947)
and
Candida Irazusta McErquiaga (1882-1968), buried March 29, 1968.
The baby girl, Candida Marcuerquiaga, born & died December 5, 1921, is probably their daughter, because Bruno, Sr. spelled his last name differently than Bruno, Jr.

Their oldest child (of 12 children), and Bruno, Jr.'s sister, was Marie (Justo) Zabala, followed by (not in order), their sons: Bruno, Jr., Joe 1914-1998 (Carmen G. Lasa, Nov 15, 1915, CA - Nov 17, 1997, Reno, who had Judy, Joe & Larry of Reno), Leon, Julio (1916-1972), John, Frank 1915-2006 (Marian Miller 1924-2004) & Hank, and younger sisters: Connie (Mrs. Paul F. Farmer #71906433), Grace, 1923-2013 (Victor F. Peluaga, 1929-1993), Emilia B. "Millie" (m. 1940, James Rich Graham of Des Moines, IA, 1911-2002, and stillborn Anne.
