Funeral service for Virginia G. Adams, 93, of Auburn is 2:00p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Loachapoka United Methodist Church. Reverend Ken Jackson is officiating. Burial will follow in Loachapoka United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1:00p.m. Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Adams passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Auburn. She was born November 1, 1920 in Abbeville, AL. She was a long time Lee County resident. Mrs. Adams was a member of Loachapoka United Methodist Church, EAMC Auxiliary, Lee County Hospice, and former member of Emblem Club and Exchange Club of Opelika. She was a former Mayor of Loachapoka and worked at the Loachapoka Post Office. She was preceded in death by infant son John W. Adams, husband John Adams, and son, W. Frederick Adams.
Mrs. Adams is survived by daughter, Judith A. (Bill) Worrell of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Rose of Auburn, Jennifer R. Strength of Auburn, Tiffany Chapman of Layette, GA, Elizabeth Adams of Auburn; sisters, Jeanette G. Horne of Dothan, Wilma G. Williford of Auburn; and 6 great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the EAMC Foundation.
