Wilma Lee (Johnson) Stoeckert passed away at Blair Ridge Health Campus April 4, 2014 at 1 p.m., after a brief illness. She was born December 21, 1927, to Paul W. and Carrie Ruth (LeVaugh) Johnson. She married Charles F. Stoeckert in May 1952.
She is survived by a son John M. Stoeckert and wife Barbara of Mexico, Ind., a stepson Charles F. Stoeckert Jr. and wife Roseanne of Tennessee, and a stepdaughter Barbara J. (Stoeckert) Miller and husband Donald of New York. Included are 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Wilma is also survived by a brother Norman Johnson and wife Theresa of Washington, two sisters Frances Bookwalter of Peru, Judy Hoff and husband John also of Peru, and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Harold and a sister, Erma Graf Flora.
Wilma had many talents and enjoyed several hobbies. She was a seamstress and also enjoyed making draperies, chair caning, flower gardening and floral arranging both live and artificial, wood carving, woodworking, calligraphy, picture framing and matting. She loved music, played piano, keyboard, accordion, violin, rattled the bones and spoons. She sang in the church choir most of her adult life.
Friends may call Thursday, April 10, from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Pastors, J. Robert Clark & Tim Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Reyburn Cemetery, Peru.
