Actor. He was an American Broadway actor, who earned a degree in piano and voice from Henderson State University in 1976, and then had an early job at Walt Disney World, which led to his casting in 1978's Tony award-winning "Timbuktu." Later stage credits included "Play On," "Purlie," "Dreamgirls," "Big River," "Ain't Misbehaven," "Eubie," "Twist," "To Kill a Mockingbird," "The Hot Mikado," "Porgy & Bess," "Jelly's Last Jam," "Sophisticated Ladies," and "Black Nativity," with an audience before Pope John Paul II. One of His signature achievements was in a solo theater piece "Looking Over the President's Shoulder," a one-man show about the first African-American chief butler at the White House. In March of 2003 he performed alongside former President Bill Clinton in a joint fundraiser for the Clinton Foundation and the Arkansas Symphony. He was inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame in 2005. He died from the complications of a recent surgery.
