Donald William Jett

Donald William Jett, 63, of 771 Autumn St., died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Orangeburg with the Rev. John Ropp and the Rev. Mel Wright officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg.

Mr. Jett was born Nov. 29, 1941, in Bristol, Va., a son of James L. Jett and Jeanette Carter. He served in the National Guard and was retired from Eastman Chemical after 30 years of service. He was a member of Orangeburg Bass Master and an avid fisherman. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and was a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Dillard Jett, of Orangeburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Malissa Ann Nowling and Bobby Lee Nowling, of Florence; one grandson, William Garrett Nowling, of Florence; his father, James L. Jett, of Bristol, Va.; his mother, Jeanette Carter, of Hiltons, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Tressa Jett, of Hiltons, Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Bob Forrester, of Hiltons, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
