Services for Silas W. Hurlbert, 72, Eagle, who died Wednesday in a Boise hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Summers Chapel in Boise with the Rev. Robert H. Kearns of the Second United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Cloverdale.

Military honors at graveside will be conducted by Sawtooth Barracks No. 217, Veterans of World War I.

Mr. Hurlbert was born Sept. 1, 1895, at Novelty, Mo., the son of John and Lillie Hendricks Hurlbert. He moved to Idaho in 1912. He served in the Army in World War I.

Making his home at Mayfield, he married Hazel L. Van Horn at Mountain Home on June 20, 1931. They moved to Mountain Home in 1936 and five years later moved to Eagle. He was engaged in farming at Mayfield and Mountain Home at the time of death.

Mr. Hurlbert was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Sawtooth Barracks No. 217 of the Veterans of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel, Eagle; two sons, Clifford Van Horn, Boise, and Norman S. Hurlbert, Boise; two brothers, Jess T. Hurlbert, San Jose, Calif., and John W. Hurlbert, Boise; four sisters, Mrs. Verdie McIlroy, San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Maude Rice, Seattle, Mrs. Elizabeth Ward, Eagle, and Mrs. Bessie Taylor, Eagle; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
