STILLWATER Sylvia (Knibbs) Everett Smith, 77, of Hudson Avenue, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany.
A native and lifelong resident of Stillwater, she was daughter of the late Harold and Pearl Palmatier Knibbs, and wife of R. Jay Smith who died January 20, 2011.
Sylvia was a clerk with the New York State Insurance Fund in Albany for a number of years before retiring.
She had been a volunteer kindergarten aide with St. Mary's Catholic School in Waterford.
Gardening and cooking were things she enjoyed doing around the house, but tending to her family, especially her grandchildren, gave the greatest joy.
A burial service will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery, on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m.
