Audrey Sue Kohler
August 23, 1937 – April 5, 2014
Audrey Sue Kohler, age 76 of Monroe, died 3:50 a.m. Saturday at Medilodge of Monroe. She had been in declining health for six months.
Friends may visit from 3 – 8 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Gary Tryggestad, Co-Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born August 23, 1937 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Conrad and Helen (Swartz) Michel. She married William R. Kohler in 1957.
Sue was a 1955 graduate of Monroe High School and enjoyed tending to her flower garden and watching professional wrestling. She had been employed by McDonald's on Dixie Hwy. from 1980 -1988 and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Sue is survived by: two sons, Brian (Melinda) Kohler and Kevin (Virginia) Kohler, both of Newport; a daughter, Cheryl Gruberman of O'Fallon, Illinois; sister, Iva Riehle of Monroe; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virginia Blessing and a brother, Lloyd Michel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
