She was born May 31, 1925, in Irondale, the daughter of the late Hezekiah and Cora (Tackett) Hackney.
Garnet graduated from Irondale High School. She was a member of the former Church of God House of Prayer in Irondale and Aglow Ministries. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters: Barbara Raffle-Morgan of East Springfield, Ohio, and Patricia Russell of Stratton; two sons: Jerry Blaschak and his wife, Joanna, of East Liverpool, and Jim Blaschak and his wife, Carole, of East Liverpool; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Garnet is also survived by her loving friend: Jerry Blaschak, Sr.
In addition to her parents, Garnet was preceded in death by her first husband: Homer Johnson; her son: John Johnson; her grandson; five sisters: Dorothy, Clara, Emily, Lucille, and Marjorie; and three brothers: Henry, Howard, and Charles.
Burial will be in Highlandtown Cemetery.
