Mannis D. Blanton, 81, of Valdosta, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 25, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Mr. Blanton remained very active during his retirement. He was born in Berrien County, and lived in Valdosta most of his life. He was the last surviving child of Lattie A. and Onnie M. Brogdon Blanton. Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Folsom; and brother, Lemmie Blanton. He was a member of Cherry Creek Baptist Church in Lowndes County.
