Mrs. Elmer Earll, 46, of Ireton passed away Sunday in the Methodist hospital in Sioux City, following a long illness.
A year ago last spring Mrs. Earll submitted to an operation and later she took X-ray treatments. Sunday morning her condition became critical, while she was in the home of her parents in Sioux City and she was removed to the hospital where she passed away about an hour later.
Her remains were brought to Hawarden and funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Ross Funeral home and at the Baptist church in this city at 2:30, with Rev. J.H. Flaming in charge. Interment was in Grace Hill cemetery.
Marilla Crawford was born on April 20, 1900, at Lima, Ohio, and came to Iowa with her parents in 1909. She was married on Janurary 15, 1920, at Sioux City to Elmer Earll, after which they moved on to the Fred Earll form, 10 miles southeast of Hawarden. They had planned to retire from farm life this year because of her poor health.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Garrietts of Akron; Mrs. Elinor Kluver of Le Mars; and Eva Mae and a son, Lyle E., at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Crawford of Sioux City; five brothers, Jacob w., Ralph H., Frank and Charles W., all of Sioux City, and Clarence E., of Neenah, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Carnes of Sioux City, Mrs. Iona Babcock of Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Eva Nelson of Baltimore, Md., and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Earll was a member of the Hawarden Baptist church and when her health permitted was a regular attendant.
