Her obituary appeared in the Sterling Gazette, 5 January 1971, p. 2, col. 1:

RITES FOR MRS. ETHEL FORWARD ON THURSDAY

TAMPICO - The funeral of Mrs. Ethel C. Forward, 90, of Tampico will be conducted at Schmitt Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Raymond Good, of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel after 2....

Mrs. Forward was born in Tampico Nov. 17, 1880. Her death occurred Sunday afternoon in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford. Mrs. Forward had resided in Rockford with her daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Vera) Retzlaff who survives along with two sons, Albert and Dean Forward of Tampico. She also leaves a brother, George Forward of Rock Falls, one granddaughter, three great grandchildren.

Clare Forward preceded his wife in death in 1939. She was also preceded by four sisters and one grandson, Terrence Forward in 1951.
