MRS. STANLEY CHAMBERLAIN
BELFAST – Mrs. Arvilla Chamberlain of 26 Angel Street, Belfast, died today, Thursday, September 27, 1990, in her home after an apparent heart attack.
Born May 28, 1909, in Rushford, she was a daughter of Julius and Minnie Westfall Butler. On March 6, 1935, in Rushford, she married Stanley Chamberlain, who predeceased her.
A resident of the Belfast area most of her life, Mrs. Chamberlain was a graduate of the Geneseo Normal School. She had been a teacher in the Yorkshire area and later was a substitute teacher in many area schools.
She was a member of the Belfast Free Methodist Church and the Belfast Leisure Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eben (Nancy) Graves of Belfast and Mrs. Daniel (Patricia) Moody of Keystone Heights, Florida; four grandchildren; a brother, Barton Burdett Butler of Waynesville, North Carolina; four sisters, Mrs. Erma Hitchcock of Kendall, Mrs. Pauline Tullar of Yorkshire, Mrs. Elva Wallace of Spencerport and Mrs. Wilma Robinson of McCormick, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends called Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast. Funeral services were held Monday, October 1, 1990, at 11 a.m. in the Belfast Free Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Marsh, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Belfast.
Memorials may be made to the Belfast Free Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
