Loretta Mae Dickerson Dockins, 96, of Jackson, entered her heavenly home Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

She was born May 5, 1920, in Jackson, daughter of Gale and Zula Dockins Wilkinson. She and Victor Dickerson were married December 1, 1939 and he passed away June 1, 1989. She and Perry Lee Dockins, Sr were married April 13, 1993. He passed away January 18, 1997.

Loretta attended Millersville High School her freshman and junior year; then attended University High her junior year. She worked at the Jackson Hosiery Mill from 1955 until 1974, and at the Cape County Health Department from 1975 until 2012. Loretta was a member of the Red Hat Society in Jackson and was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Loving survivors include two sons, Daniel “Danny” (Patricia) Dickerson and William “Bill” (Sue) Dickerson of Jackson; a step-son, Charles “Chuck” (Elaine) Dockins of St. Charles, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dana (Lance) McDonald, Danette Bollinger, Derek (Heather) Dickerson, Shanna Dickerson (fiancé, Eric Wright), and Brittney (Damion) Haymer; two step-grandchildren, Justin (Jessie) Dockins and Jennifer Dockins; eight greatgrandchildren, Kyle and Victoria Bollinger, Benjamin, Lyla, and William McDonald, Danielle and John Dickerson and Hillary Haymer; and two step-greatgrandchildren, Benjamin and Everett Dockins.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two greatgrandchildren, Shailyn Dickerson and Shayden McClannahan; a daughter-in-law, Donna Dickerson; and a step-son, Perry Lee “Doc” Dockins, Jr.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday, October 20, 2016 in chapel B of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests that contributions be made to Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services, 608 Pine Street, Farmington, MO 63640.
