Erney Kolars, son of Joseph and Anna Sterba Kolars, was born July 31, 1911 at rural Washington and died October 21, at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville. He was 90
He attended Howard School in Washington County. He was married to Matilda Krhounek on August 24, 1937 and to this union three children were born.
He was a farmer and then worked for Cuba Implement Company as a mechanic until he retired. He served on the Cuba Volunteer Fire Department for over 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son-in-law, Lauren Davis; two sisters, Albina Fritz and Rose Plevka; four brothers, Frank, Ed, Ben, and Joe Kolars.
He is survived by two daughter, Marlene Davis and Janice Brungardt; one son, Melvin Kolars; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church, Cuba, conducted by Revs. Bob Haseltine and Susan Herman. Interment was at Kopsa Cemetery, rural Cuba.
