The funeral for Evelyn was held at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Oberon, ND with interment in Hillside Cemetery. She died on 12 Apr 1995 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND. Intern Paul Ritter officiated. Vi Jordre was organist and Renee Gilderhus was soloist. Pallbearers were Michael McCormick, Douglas Vallier, Lee Erickson, Rique Schill, David Tweten and John Kallenbach. The Nelson Funeral Home of Maddock was in charge of arrangements. Evaline "Evelyn" Mariah Vallier was born on 4 Sep 1901 at Oberon to Even and Lena Bergsrud Lamen. She attended school in Flora and Maddock. She married George Vallier on 28 Apr 1920 at Minnewaukan. They farmed a few years in the Oberon area before moving to Flora where he was employed at the elevator. In 1937 they moved back to a farmstead near Oberon and remained there until they retired in 1963. During their first years of retirement they spent winters in Enumclaw, WA. In 1972 they moved to Oberon. He died on 25 Aug 1981. She continued to live in Oberon until 1987 when she moved to the Memorial Home in Maddock. She later moved to the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford. She was member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Oberon and its' ladies aid. She was a former member of the Flora Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford and Veloy Vallier and Gerald and Joyce Vallier all of Oberon; three daughters, Lucille Mrs. Richard Olson of Enumclaw, WA, Georgine Mrs. Allan Isakson of Fargo and Anna Erickson of Grand Forks, ND. Eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and two sisters.
